Last night my camera (Canon XTi) fell off of a table from a height of about 3 feet.  My heart nearly stopped.  It turns out it landed almost on the front of the lens which actually turned into a near best case scenario.  The only casualty appears to be the UV filter which broke, its glass came out of the casing.  Otherwise the lens and body appear to be fine, everything still works not even a scratch anywhere on the casing.
