Tuesday and Wednesday were busy days for me.  I attended the UofM Institute of Technology Career Fair (sponsored by the Society of Women Engineers – SWE and HKN) and talked to about 20 recruiters from different companies.  I’ve also already received a few interview offers, so I’m definitely excited for the coming weeks.

I’m also rather busy with class work right now so my side projects have definitely slowed to halt, but I did purchase a Danger Shield from the Makershed store to solder together and play around with in the coming months,  I plan to use the sliders for light control or something similar in my apartment bedroom.

The other day I got a tour of the new TCF Bank Stadium,  the future home of the UofM Golden Gophers, which is currently under construction. The tour was due is my involvement in the Stadium Area Advisory Group, comprised of the UofM and the neighboring communities and other muninipalities that have a stake in having a new stadium on campus and all the people it will attract. The stadium is coming along on budget and on time to be open for the 2009-2010 football season.  One of the most amazing things I noticed in the new stadium is the monstrous facility for the Marching Band.  It seems they have more locker room space then the football team. The new facility will consolidate the band’s facilities currently spread across a number of buildings.  The home team locker room will also be pretty impressive, shaped like a giant football.  You can see more on the stadium here

I took a number of photos on the tour including the suit level the home team locker room and the band area.  The building is still pretty rough but you can get a decent idea of the shape and scale of things to come.  The photos should be up on my Flickr and here by this weekend, I’m more than a little busy with work and moving in the next few days.

I managed to brush past this little guy without even seeing him, I was surprised Brit spotted him the the 6.5ft tall wild flowers.  Taken at the University of Minnesota Landscape Arboretum in Chanhassen, MN.
